La rivière Sheldrake est une rivière de 25 km parcourant un basin versant caractérisé par un gradient de végétation et de pergélisol. En amont, le pergélisol sporadique est fortement dégradé et la végétation de type toundra forestière. En aval, le pergélisol est discontinu et la végétation de type toundra arbustive. La rivière se déverse dans la baie d’Hudson approximativement 8 km au nord d’Umiujaq.
The Sheldrake River is a 25 km long river that flows through a watershed characterized by permafrost and vegetation gradients. The upstream areas of the watershed are characterized by forest-tundra vegetation and degraded sporadic permafrost. The downstream areas have shrub-tundra vegetation and discontinuous permafrost. The river discharges into Hudson Bay 8 km north of Umiujaq.
