What is a long-term dataset?
In the future, data deposits on Nordicana D will be reserved for long-term longitudinal datasets and for updating existing longitudinal datasets on NordicanaD (e.g. SILA network data).
A longitudinal dataset is a dynamic set of data that enables us to analyze the evolution of one or more parameters over an extended period of time, and to detect trends, causal effects or changes over time. The criteria are therefore:
If you wish to submit a new longitudinal dataset to Nordicana D, please send an abstract to nordicana@cen.ulaval.ca describing the included data, clearly outlining the dataset's longitudinal nature. This will be evaluated by the CEN Data Management Committee.
What is Nordicana D?
Published by the Centre d'études nordiques (CEN) in 1964, the Nordicana collection enabled the dissemination of works of Nordic interest, including symposium proceedings, lexicons, monographs, essays and theses.
To cope with the increasing amount of data generated by the CEN's work and meet the growing demand for access to it, the CEN set up the Nordicana D collection around fifteen years ago.
Produced exclusively in electronic form, this collection is freely accessible via the internet to CEN researchers and all other users interested in CEN's work. It facilitates the management of longitudinal datasets and guarantees their accessibility via this website. It archives the results of CEN's research and data collection.
