Why adopt a data management policy at the CEN?

For the CEN, establishing an internal data management policy is an essential strategic move. The CEN wishes to adopt this approach to encourage and promote efficient, secure, compliant and transparent data management.

• Efficient data management facilitates access to data.
• Secure data management involves protecting data against unauthorised access, loss, leakage and cyber-attacks.
• Compliant data management means complying with Law 25 on data protection.
• Transparent management inspires confidence in CEN members by implementing the above criteria.

This new management approach has been made possible by improved governance at CEN, which was adopted in May 2025. The roles and responsibilities relating to the collection, use, storage and destruction of data have been clarified and will continue to be so.
