In order to apply for membership of the Centre for Northern Studies, you must be enrolled on a postgraduate course and studying under the supervision of a regular member or collaborator of the CEN.

Step 1: Create a profile on the CEN intranet

Please send the following information to adhesion@cen.ulaval.ca:

Last name
First name
Name of project supervisor and co-supervisor, if applicable
Level of study (master's, doctoral, or postdoctoral)
University affiliation and department of study
Official proof of your date of first enrollment in your program of study (e.g., transcript, letter of acceptance from the university)

Step 2: Description of the research project

We will send you a username and password to allow you to complete the online application form. As well as providing various details about your academic record, you will be asked to write a description of your project in both French and English. This description should cover the following sections:

Title (50–1,000 characters).
Problem Statement (200–1,000 characters).
Objectives (200–1,000 characters).
Description of study sites (200–1,000 characters).
Materials and methods (200–1,000 characters).
Expected results (200–1,000 characters).

If you are transferring to a doctoral programme, you do not need to submit a new application. However, please notify us at adhesion@cen.ulaval.ca so that the change can be made to your file.
