The Salluit station is owned and operated by the Centre d'études nordiques (CEN) whose secretariat is located at Laval University, Quebec Canada. Salluit is a major CEN site for permafrost and mollisol studies.
Salluit is served by commercial airlines from Montreal, Quebec City and Radisson (1000km south). Every summer, several cargo ships (2 barges in May-June and August-September) are used to ship heavy equipment and materials.
The house has a bathroom, living room, kitchen, furniture and washer/dryer. The installations have an electric and solar power supply. The water supplied by the municipality is not potable. Garbage collection is done every week. A container is available for this purpose. Recycling collection is not offered on site.
