The Clearwater Lake research station is owned by the Kativik Regional Government (KRG), but its management is entrusted to the Centre d'études nordiques under a long-term lease. This station is part of the Qaujisarvik CEN Network and is part of a national park that is co-managed by the KRG and the Quebec government (Tursujuq National Park).
Clearwater Lake is an isolated station in a national park. It is only accessible by charter flight (float plane, helicopter, Twin Otter in winter), therefore all research activities must be planned in advance. Contact the station for more information.
The station is equipped with a shower and a washer. The facilities have electrical and solar power, running water, dry toilets and oil heating. Waste must be sorted and evacuated as soon as possible to Whapmagoostui-Kuujjuarapik. Human waste is buried on site.
