In 2026, the CEN has completely modernized its data management infrastructure, to ensure its sustainability and integration with current digital ecosystems. The database has been replaced with an efficient relational model, and the interface now allows longitudinal dataset managers to publish directly through the web tool. This redesign makes the platform more sustainable, secure, and easier to maintain.

What's NordicanaD?

The Nordicana D collection is an infrastructure for managing longitudinal datasets. It is available exclusively in electronic format on the web and is freely accessible to CEN researchers and all users interested in the CEN's work. It facilitates the management of longitudinal datasets and ensures the sustainability of the results of the CEN's research and data collection work.

History

The Nordicana collection, published by the Centre for Northern Studies (CEN) since 1964, allows the dissemination of works of Nordic interest such as symposium proceedings, lexicons, monographs, essays or theses. To cope with the increasing amount of data generated by CEN's work and to meet the growing demand for access to it, CEN has set up the Nordicana D collection.
