The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding involvement of two students at the CEN each year. In the winter of each year, a call for nominations will be sent out by email to students, faculty, and staff who will be invited to nominate a student member of the CEN who has shown exceptional involvement in one or more of the CEN committees (such as the student committee, the equity, diversity and inclusion committee (EDI), etc.) or other northern committees or activities. Nominations will be reviewed and evaluated by personel of the CEN.

Two prizes of $500 will be awarded at the CEN conference.

The call for candidates is made by external nomination. In other words, students, professors and professional research staff of the CEN are invited to nominate a CEN student member who has distinguished him/herself through involvement in one or more CEN committees (such as the Student Committee, the IDS Committee, etc.) or other committees or Northern activities.

Nominations will be judged by CEN staff.

To nominate a student member of the NEC who has distinguished him/herself through outstanding involvement in the NEC, please send his/her name along with a short paragraph explaining the student member's outstanding involvement in the NEC to coordination@cen.ulaval.ca.
