General Information

The dedicated CEN student committee and the Sentinelle Nord student association are pleased to offer student members of both institutions a 3-day writing retreat from April 10 to 12, 2024, in the calm and enchanting spring setting of the Lac Simon vacation center in Portneuf.

Please note that this edition of the writing retreat is already sold out! Thank you for your involvement, and we hope to see you at the next edition in Autumn 2024!

What to Expect ?

Periods of pomodoro-style writing will be interspersed with outdoor activities, sports and relaxation, and you'll also have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with students from other universities. Evenings are rounded off with campfires and board games. Over the course of the retreat, students will complete 20 hours of high-quality writing, making it a highly effective activity for advancing your research project.

Logistics and registration

Transportation is included in the cost of the retreat. For those who wish to travel from Quebec City, a bus will leave Université Laval on the morning of April 10 and return at the end of the retreat. We will also reimburse travel expenses for students from outside Quebec City and strongly encourage carpooling.

Food is also included in the cost of the retreat. We will have a catering service for lunch and dinner. Lunches will not be prepared for you, but all food will be purchased and all you have to do is toast and butter your toast!

A fee of $60 per person is required to confirm your registration (includes lodging, transportation, and meals for the duration of your stay).

Don't hesitate to ask your directors for financial support for the event.
