Je travaille comme professeur-chercheur en géographie à l’Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) depuis décembre 2006. Mes travaux de recherche portent sur l’amélioration des techniques de télédétection des propriétés bio-optiques, le développement de modèles diagnostiques pour estimer les processus photochimiques, l'étude de l'impact des changements environnementaux sur la productivité des écosystèmes marins arctiques et subarctiques par télédétection spatiale et l'étude des flux biogéochimiques continent-océan à l'aide d'outils optiques. Je suis membre du réseau pancanadien ArcticNET et chercheur principal de la thématique Marine Biological Hotspots: Ecosystem Services and Susceptibility to Climate Change . Je fais également parti de l'équipe de la Chaire d'Excellence du Canada sur la Télédétection de la nouvelle frontière Arctique.
