Membership Categories

The membership categories below correspond to the new FRQNT rules and have been adopted by CEN members at the Annual meeting held on May 1, 2014 at La Pocatière.

Regular Member

A researcher from a university or research institution who is responsible or jointly-responsible for the scientific direction of one or several projects of a scientific  research program (full-time equivalent:  = 50%).

Collaborating Member A researcher from a university or research institution who oversees certain tasks pertaining to one or several projects of a scientific research program (full-time equivalent: 49% or less)

Researchers who are membres of a research group must generally devote most of their time to its research objectives. However, certain researchers may be part of more than one group. In these particular cases, the researchers must demonstrate the merit of these memberships and detail the type of participation and time that will be devoted to carrying out the activities with each group.

Evaluation of Applications

Applications are evaluated on a biannual basis in the months of May and November. The decision is communicated to the applicant by the scientific coordinator of CEN shortly after the meeting.
